Description
Nîmes is known as the “Rome” of France. The city’s rich history dates back to the Roman Empire with several famous monuments, which we will tour along with museums and shopping. We will picnic in the Jardins de la Fontaine, one of the oldest public gardens in Europe. The workshops will take place in a stunning 18th century house which has been beautifully restored with modern amenities, which include a private courtyard for outdoor dinning, and a plunge pool. The perfect spot for late afternoon l’apéro.
During our one cooking class per day, you will learn many classic French dishes and techniques. Experience the local markets where we will select ingredients for our exquisite creative dishes. There will be a French language class with Nîmes native Thibault Rocheblave, and Thibault will also be showing you all of the beautiful sites of this historic city. In addition you will meet local wine makers and taste their delicious wines. We will end our adventure with a 5 course feast to celebrate our culinary successes.
Lodging
Lodging is included in the price of the ticket. The house has three floors. Two rooms on opposite ends on the 2nd floor, with en suite bathrooms, And two rooms on opposite ends ,with a sitting room in between that share a large shower room with double sinks, and a separate WC on the 3rd floor. All of the beautiful rooms have queen sized beds with high quality linens.
What’s included
Tickets include lodging for 6.5 days. All food, wine, three meals per day. As well as one cooking class per day. A French language class, sightseeing, and wine tasting.
Getting there
The closest airport is Montpellier-Méditerranée Airport which is 39 mins by car. Taxis are available at the airport. You can also take the train from Charles de Gaulle airport, or the Gare de Lyon station in Paris. The train station is in the city center in NÎmes within walking distance to the house.
